Google's pixel 11 series faces a major dilemma
Google's latest Pixel phones are rumoured to come with a slightly smaller battery compared to their predecessors. This battery reduction, combined with the expected price hike, could spell trouble for the Pixel series.
Pixel 11 pro and xl: the battery conundrum
Recent leaks suggest the Pixel 11 Pro will sport a 4,850mAh battery, while the larger Pixel 11 Pro XL could boast a 5,115mAh cell. This is a downgrade from the Pixel 10 Pro's 4,870mAh capacity and the 5,200mAh battery in the Pixel 10 Pro XL.
The reduced battery size, coupled with the rumored premium pricing, could make the Pixel 11 series a tough sell for many consumers. The baseline Pixel 11 might start at $899, while the top-tier Pixel 11 Pro XL could cost a hefty $1,300 - the same as the Galaxy S26 Ultra.

A tougher market for google
Google's Pixel phones have struggled to gain significant traction in the US market, with the mighty iPhone and Samsung's Galaxy series dominating the landscape. The Pixel's lack of raw performance, courtesy of the Tensor chipset, has been a major factor in its underwhelming success.
While the Pixel series boasts top-notch cameras and displays, the subpar performance might not be enough to justify the higher price point. As competitors continue to push out powerful, feature-packed devices, Google needs to deliver something unique and compelling to differentiate the Pixel 11 from the competition.
With the Pixel 11 series facing a challenging market and a potential premium price tag, Google's upcoming launch event on August 12 will be closely watched to see if the company can turn things around with its latest flagship offerings.
