Verizon suffers regional outage as thousands of customers lose connectivity

Thousands of Verizon customers across the northeastern United States were left without mobile service on Tuesday morning, sparking a flood of complaints to outage tracking website Downdetector.

The issue, which began at 8:32 AM ET, saw a peak of 1,067 submissions about problems from Verizon customers by 10:17 AM, up from just 66 at 8:17 AM, according to Downdetector.

While the outage was not widespread enough to register as a major issue, with Verizon previously experiencing outages affecting nearly all of its customers in January, the disruption still caused significant inconvenience for those affected.

Verizon customers in Pittsburgh, New York City, Erie, Columbus, Brooklyn, Philadelphia, and Ashburn saw the most complaints, with some users unable to make or receive calls, send texts, or access mobile data.
