Apple unveils iphone 17e: 3nm chip, enhanced camera, and higher storage

Apple has expanded its iPhone 17 lineup with the release of the iPhone 17e, boasting a powerful new chip and upgraded camera capabilities. The device, announced Monday, promises to deliver all-day battery life and a refined user experience.

Iphone 17e: power and performance boost

The iPhone 17e is powered by Apple's newly developed 3nm A19 application processor (AP), a significant leap in performance and efficiency. This chip, combined with the power-saving C1X modem and iOS 26's optimized power management, is projected to provide all-day battery life. The base model offers 256GB of storage, doubling the starting capacity of the iPhone 16e at the same price point of $599.

The camera system receives a notable upgrade with a 48MP Fusion camera capable of 2x optical zoom. Users can capture images at either 48MP or 24MP, with enhanced portrait mode offering a smoother bokeh effect. The phone also maintains an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.

Pre-orders for the iPhone 17e begin this Wednesday, March 4th, with availability starting March 11th. It will be available in Black, White, and Soft Pink finishes.
