At&t unifies wireless & internet with oneconnect plan
at&t is shaking up its offerings with OneConnect, a new plan designed to simplify connectivity for customers juggling both cell phone and internet services. The move comes as the wireless market slows and carriers increasingly focus on retaining existing customers.

One plan, fewer headaches
OneConnect bundles cellular and fiber internet plans into a single subscription. Instead of managing separate bills and accounts, customers get everything through one streamlined plan. The pricing starts at $90 per month for 1 Gig fiber and one phone line, a significant saving compared to the standalone costs of $115 (for 1 Gig internet and a phone line).
The plan’s all-inclusive nature is a key differentiator. Unlike many providers that tack on taxes and fees, OneConnect includes them in the advertised price, offering greater transparency for consumers.
This isn’t a new strategy. T-Mobile experimented with all-in pricing, but their current plans don't include taxes. at&t’s approach offers a straightforward price point – a welcome change for many.
However, there are limitations. OneConnect is currently available only to new customers. Existing customers will have to rely on bundling for savings. Also, device financing isn't offered, meaning customers must bring their own devices to the table.
This strategy reflects a broader shift in the industry. With the legal battles between T-Mobile and Verizon highlighting the end of a price war, carriers are now vying for customers through value and convenience. at&t, the third-largest provider with 120.1 million subscribers, is betting that simplicity will resonate.
The introduction of OneConnect caps a busy month for AT&T, which also refreshed plans and raised prices. The company’s recent app rollout adds another layer to its evolving service offerings.
OneConnect is a bold move, but its limited availability and BYOD requirement leave some customers wanting more. Still, AT&T’s focus on simplifying connectivity could prove to be a winning strategy in a competitive market.
