Apple unveils iphone 17e and m4-powered ipad air

apple kicked off the week with a bang, introducing the iPhone 17e and a new iPad Air powered by the M4 chip. The iPhone 17e boasts a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR display and is priced at $599 for the 256GB model, a significant jump from the iPhone 16e's base storage at the same price point.

Iphone 17e specs and features

The device packs a punch with apple's custom 3nm A19 application processor, offering all-day battery life thanks to the power-sipping C1X modem and iOS 26's efficient power management. Users can expect fast charging capabilities, topping off to 50% in about 30 minutes, and wireless charging support up to 15W via MagSafe and Qi2 accessories.

The camera game is strong with the iPhone 17e's 48MP Fusion sensor, delivering 2x optical zoom and snapping high-resolution photos at 48MP or 24MP for sharing. Portrait mode photos feature a smooth bokeh effect, while videos can be captured in 4K with Dolby Vision at up to 60 frames per second, with spatial audio capabilities for immersive listening on AirPods or apple Vision Pro.

The iPhone 17e also sports an IP68 rating, protecting against dust, splashes, and water immersion up to 6 meters for 30 minutes.

M4-powered ipad air

Alongside the new iPhone, apple unveiled the iPad Air with M4, featuring a faster CPU, GPU, and Neural Engine compared to its predecessor. The tablet supports Wi-Fi 7 and is available in 11-inch and 13-inch display sizes, with pricing starting at $599 for the 11-inch model and $799 for the 13-inch variant.

Pre-orders for both devices begin this Wednesday, March 4, with availability set for March 11.
