Caviar Launches $13,000 Galaxy Z Fold 8 Edizioni – Scarface, Don Corleone, and Joker Designs
The ultra-premium smartphone market just got a whole lot more extravagant. Caviar, known for its opulent phone customizations, has unveiled a series of limited-edition Galaxy Z Fold 8 devices, each boasting a distinct design inspired by iconic figures from popular culture – Scarface, Don Corleone, and the Joker. These aren’t subtle upgrades; they represent a significant investment, with prices starting at $12,560 for the Scarface model.

A Galaxy of Excess: Caviar’s Latest Creations
The core functionality of these phones – a Galaxy Z Fold 8 with 256GB or 1TB of storage – remains unchanged. The real value proposition lies in the meticulously crafted, gold-plated rear panels. Caviar has employed a complex enamel technique to reproduce portraits of Tony Montana, Marlon Brando’s Don Vito Corleone, and the Joker, respectively. The Scarface edition, priced at $12,560, features a striking red and gold design, highlighting Montana’s likeness with a level of detail that borders on unsettling. The Don Corleone version, costing $12,990 (for the 256GB model, $13,700 for 1TB), utilizes 24K gold accents to emphasize Brando’s iconic features. And the Joker edition, retailing at $13,700, showcases a similarly lavish application of gold, albeit with a more contemporary aesthetic – a marked improvement over Caviar’s previous attempts at replicating the character’s look in 2020.
“It’s not about performance,” explains a Caviar spokesperson. “It’s about owning a piece of art, a statement. These phones are designed for those who appreciate the finer things in life – and aren’t afraid to pay a premium for them.” While the core hardware remains that of the standard Z Fold 8 and Z Fold 8 Ultra, the added expense is purely for the bespoke, gold-infused rear panels. Essentially, you’re paying for a glorified, incredibly expensive status symbol.
The company’s willingness to push the boundaries of luxury in the smartphone space continues to draw attention, though the price point remains firmly out of reach for the vast majority of consumers. Samsung, meanwhile, continues to grapple with profitability challenges in its foldable phone division, despite a substantial increase in chip revenue. The Galaxy Z Fold 8, despite its premium positioning, represents a significant investment for the South Korean tech giant, and Caviar’s additions only amplify that financial commitment.
