Galaxy z flip 8 battery: same old story?

Leaked specifications for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8 reveal a disappointing continuation of the previous generation's battery capacity, a move many are finding underwhelming.

Reports from Galaxy Club (via Dutch sources) indicate that the Galaxy Z Flip 8 will retain the same battery configurations as its predecessor: a 1,150 mAh cell and a 3,024 mAh cell, totaling 4,174 mAh. This is identical to the Galaxy Z Flip 7’s advertised 4,300 mAh capacity.

The anticipated chipset is rumored to be the Exynos 2600, a 2nm chip. While a step up in process, its performance still lags behind the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, a significant oversight for a flagship device.

The camera system is also expected to mirror the Z Flip 7, with no major upgrades anticipated. Industry insiders suggest the focus for the Z Flip 8 will be on refinements – a lighter and thinner design, narrower bezels, and potentially a more refined hinge mechanism.

Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy Z Flip 8 and Galaxy Z Fold 8 around July. Pricing is rumored to remain consistent with the Z Flip 7, with the base 256GB model potentially priced at $1,099 and the 512GB version around $1,219. These figures suggest a cautious approach from Samsung, prioritizing incremental improvements over bold innovations.

The lack of battery advancement, coupled with a chipset that doesn't quite compete with the latest offerings, paints a picture of a device that prioritizes refinement over revolution.
