Google calendar's time zone picker gets a major update

Google is simplifying the time zone selection process within its popular calendar app, a feature that often slows users down when traveling across different regions.

Tying it to your location

Currently, when Google Calendar detects a change in your time zone, it prompts you to manually select the correct region from an extensive list of over 400 options. However, the tech giant is now introducing an improved time zone picker that allows you to type the name of the city or country you're currently in, and the app will automatically adjust accordingly.

This streamlined feature is being rolled out gradually and will be available to customers of Google Workspace, Workspace Individual subscribers, and users with personal Google accounts. Once the update lands on your Android device, the new time zone picker will be enabled by default, also extending to the iOS version of the app.
