Google gboard to scale emoji with system font size

Google is developing a new feature for Gboard that will allow emojis to display larger, automatically adjusting to the system font size. Currently, emojis in Gboard only respond to screen size, not font size adjustments, limiting their visibility when increasing system text.

Why emoji size matters

Gboard's new emoji scaling feature

A recent Gboard beta release has discovered an option enabling emojis to grow with system font size. This feature will be accessible in a new settings menu within Gboard, where users can toggle on emoji scaling.

How it works

Once activated, emojis will increase in size as the system font size is adjusted, offering a clearer and more proportional representation in messages. For now, this function only responds to Android system font size changes, not Gboard's internal font settings. Adjusting font size within the keyboard won't directly impact emoji size.
