Samsung browser leaps ahead with multitasking in one ui 9

Google Chrome may still dominate the mobile browser market, but Samsung Internet browser is rapidly catching up and about to get even better with the release of One UI 9.

Samsung browser to gain multitasking capabilities

A fresh report claims that with One UI 9, the Samsung Browser will add support for multiple browser windows. This feature will allow users to open and run multiple browser windows simultaneously, replacing a single browser full of tabs with multiple windows.

This multitasking capability could prove particularly useful for those who frequently switch between tabs to track multiple events or activities at once. Instead of constantly navigating between tabs, users can see the real-time updates of all their open windows in one glance.

Currently, Chrome has a significant lead in the mobile browser market, with a share of 68.34% to 69.17% and over 3.83 billion monthly active users. However, Samsung Internet Browser has been steadily gaining ground, boasting over 100 million monthly active users as of late 2025/early 2026.

The new multitasking feature, set to debut on the Galaxy S26 series and Galaxy S25 line, will be a welcome addition to the Samsung Browser's arsenal of tools. The app is also working on an AI-powered feature called Ask AI, which will answer questions related to the sites users are browsing.

With these enhancements, Samsung Browser is poised to become a more formidable competitor in the mobile browsing space, offering users a compelling alternative to the dominant Chrome. Whether or not this will be enough to dethrone Google's browser remains to be seen, but for now, Samsung is definitely giving Chrome a run for its money.
