Samsung doubles down on foldables: $200 deals ignite t-mobile

Samsung’s latest foldable lineup – the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra and Z Flip 8 – are hitting shelves with a hefty price tag, but T-Mobile is offering aggressive deals that could make them surprisingly accessible.

Foldable fever: ultra and flip 8 launch with premium prices

The Z Fold 8 Ultra starts at a staggering $2,099.99, while the wider Z Fold 8 begins at $1,899.99. But T-Mobile is throwing in a significant discount: $1,900 off the Fold 8 Ultra and $200 off the Fold 8 for select T-Mobile customers.

To snag these deals, users need to trade in an eligible device and be on either the Experience Beyond or Go5G Next plan. The Z Flip 8, meanwhile, is priced at $1,199.99, but T-Mobile is offering a remarkable $100 discount – a steal for those willing to add a new line or trade in an existing device on one of their qualifying plans.

T-mobile’s fold frenzy: more than just discounts

T-mobile’s fold frenzy: more than just discounts

Beyond the immediate price cuts, T-Mobile is extending savings to its business accounts, potentially offering up to $1,300 in device discounts for switching over to the SuperMobile plan and trading in older devices. Even without a trade-in, users adding a line to SuperMobile could qualify for a $900 discount.

These credits will be delivered via 24 monthly bill credits, with taxes still applying. The Z Fold 8 Ultra sees a 57% reduction in price with a trade-in, and the Z Flip 8 boasts a 50% discount. Samsung is also offering a $30 reservation gift and a $200 Samsung credit if no trade-in is involved.

Samsung’s new smartwatch lineup is also benefiting from T-Mobile’s promotions. Customers subscribing to the Watch Plan Plus plan can score the Galaxy Watch 9 40mm for free or the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 for just $270 – a $430 savings. Starting July 30th, T-Mobile is offering 25% off on bundles including cases, screen protectors, chargers, and Samsung Buds.

The verdict: a strategic move

T-Mobile’s moves represent a calculated attempt to aggressively capture market share in the increasingly competitive foldable phone space. While the base prices remain substantial, these discounts – particularly for T-Mobile users – effectively lower the barrier to entry, turning what was once an aspirational purchase into a more attainable reality. It’s a clear signal that T-Mobile isn't just competing on price, but on value.
