Last month, a German source, WinFuture, hinted at potentially lower prices for the S26 Ultra compared to its predecessor, the S25 Ultra. However, this hope has been dashed by a recent report from South Korean media outlet, Chosun. The new information indicates a significant price surge, especially for models with higher storage capacities.
The 1tb model: a potential $1,900 price tag
According to Chosun, the S26 Ultra variant with a whopping 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage could reach 2,545,400 won, equivalent to approximately $1,767. This represents a considerable jump from the S25 Ultra's launch price for the same configuration, which was $1,476. The difference is a dramatic 20% increase year-over-year.
Us pricing: expect even higher costs
While $1,767 already seems steep for a non-foldablegalaxy phone, the final price in the US market could be even higher. Historically, Samsung has added a premium for US consumers. Last year, the S25 Ultra's 1TB model launched at $1,659.99, roughly $200 more than its Korean price. Applying a similar markup to the S26 Ultra's 1TB model could push the price beyond $1,800, potentially exceeding $1,900.
Other storage options also see increases
The price hikes aren't limited to the top-tier model. The 512GB variant is expected to cost 2.06 million won, or roughly $1,429 – an 11.3% increase over last year. The base 256GB model is projected to retail for 1,841,900 won (~$1,278), a 5.8% increase from the previous generation.
